Content Management

At the conference last week one of the more interesting topics was Content Management Server.  I thought for sure the migration technique was going to be cut and paste your way to a successful migration.  On the surface it's really pretty good.  My site is in MCMS and I hope to migrate it.  I am using host named headers so I have to do a little research there.  apparently it's not that big of a deal but there is a little rain dance that you have to do before hand.

Essentially what happens is the content in the content management server database is moved over to SharePoint.  Then you have to modify your templates again.  Most implementations that I've seen only have a few template and I do mean like three to five.  There are some things that don't migrate well, like connected pages.  For the most part it's way better than I had ever hoped!
